Ryan and Keltie are still together. Both Ryan and his friend (and ex-gf) Kate - who does bear a striking resemblance to Keltie - confirmed this when I met both of them after the Phantom Planet show on Friday night. Actually it was at about 2am Saturday morning, but whatever.

The whole concept of ~rumors is just... I don't know. I just love the way they come flying out of the mouths (and/or keyboards) of people who haven't even made an effort to find out the truth. Wild assumptions FTW! Not.

I can't honestly say 100% for certain that there was no making out. I didn't have my eyes on them throughout the entire show. I mean... I was there to see Phantom Planet, not make sure Ryan wasn't cheating on his girlfriend. But to me, Ryan's body language definitely didn't look like that of a person who was with anyone other than a good friend. Kate was playing with Ryan's hair and putting her head on his shoulder and they did have their arms around each other at times, but I didn't see anything remotely resembling making out.

I *can* say that I met and talked to both Ryan and Kate after the show. Kate introduced herself to me while Ryan was talking to some other fans, and she and I talked for several minutes. She told me that she and Ryan dated a bit back before Ryan met Keltie and that they've stayed friends ever since. We had a significant enough conversation that when Ryan came back over to us, he said (while smiling - I swear he was smiling the whole night), "Are you girls bonding?" I just said "yep" and grinned. Kate said "Jennifer, I love you, man" and gave me a big hug. She uses the expression "man" the way some people call everyone "dude" or whatever. ::shrug::

Ryan claimed to recognize me from the Panic M&G's I've met him at. I suppose he could at least remember that he'd seen my face before - I have met him twice this year. He and I talked a bit about Black Gold. According to him, Eric was supposed to be at the show as well, but bailed because he and Than have been working on their latest video.

There's more, including my pic with Ryan that Kate took, but I'll post all that later. Oh - and I do know why Keltie's blog makes it sound a little like she and Ryan are breaking up. They aren't, but I know now what she means about the timing being wrong. I'm not going to explain further than that, except to say again that according to both Kate and Ryan, Ryan and Keltie are still together.

Anyway, I'm going back to bed. Been sleep deprived for a couple of days due to the trip to LA and back. It was SO INCREDIBLY WORTH IT THOUGH OMG!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE ALEX, DARREN, JEFF AND SAM AND I LOVE RYAN ROSS, who was SO NICE to me even though he was sick and yes... I love you too, Kate. You didn't know me at all, and you were so friendly and sweet. Thank you for that. Oh, and I did get a hug from each of the guys in Phantom Planet, and a hug from Ryan as well. Life is good. And I want to move to LA so badly I can taste it.

P.S. - Someone posted some great pics from the show here: http://www.thecobrasnake.com/partyphotos/lastphantomplanet/ I don't see Kate in any of them though.

Meme (yes, really)

Doing it because as far as I know, all of my friends were nice enough (and smart enough) *not* to tag me. Ha.

a. People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question.

b. Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you. (Like many of my friends, I'm refusing anyway. I hate being ordered to do something that should be voluntary. But any of my friends who haven't done this yet are invited to.)

1. What are your nicknames?
Other than some members of my family still calling me Jenny - a name I haven't gone by in decades and they all know I hate it - I don't have any nicknames that I know of

2. How do you style your hair?
hehe Style? What's that? It's pretty long right now, so I put it up in a bun or a ponytail usually. I have started straightening it sometimes when I'm going to a show or somewhere where I know I might have my picture taken.

3. What's new in your life right now?
The PATD Live in Chicago CD/DVD and book \o/ Also, depression pretty bad for the past few days. This is my worst time of year for it though, so I'm trying not to think of it as a major setback.

4. How many colors are you wearing now?
Red, black, charcoal gray, heather gray, white... so 5

5. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Introvert, usually. Oddly assertive around celebrities though.

6. What was the last book you read?
Does Shane Vald├ęs's "A Picture With Books" count? No? Then it was an excerpt from "Professional Guide to Diseases" or "The Merck Manual."

7. Do you nap a lot?
Not more than once a day. Is that a lot?

8. If the person you secretly like is already taken, what would you do?
It would totally depend on whether they had shown any interest in me at all. If the person is obviously happy with their current significant other, there's no way I'd try to get in the way of that.

9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Oh, always. Most recently, overhearing my Dad talking to my brother about me and how he thinks I make terrible decisions in my life.

10. What was the last thing you ate today?
Maple and brown sugar hot oatmeal. Yum.

11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Too wide a range to describe here. If I shower and wash my hair and everything - 2 hours, usually. Yes, seriously. Although at least 30 minutes of that is spent in front of a fan cooling my stupid body off because it can't seem to regulate its temperature properly.

12. What websites do you visit daily?
LJ, Twitter, myspace. Often Facebook, Google search, Amazon. Some of my own sites to make sure they're running okay.

13. What classes are you taking right now? And if you're not in school anymore, what's your job?
haha Neither applies. No school and no job. And no plans right now for either one.

14. Do you like to clean?
I go through phases where I do, but usually not.

15. What do you want for Christmas?
My credit card bill paid off. Or paid down significantly. And no depression (the disease, not the mood) - for anyone - ever again.

16. What are you doing right now?
Doing this meme, listening to PATD Live in Chicago CD, thinking I need to book a hotel for my trip to LA for the final Phantom Planet show while at the same time debating just selling those tickets.

17. Who was your childhood idol?
When I was actually a child? Either Marie Osmond or Olivia Newton-John.

18. What would you do if you see $100 lying on the ground?
Just on the ground with no possible owner nearby? Yeah, I'd keep it.

19. What is your dream car?
Don't really have one. Something that gets good mileage, has a way to plug in my iPod, is comfortable and nice looking, but doesn't draw too much attention to itself.

20. Tell me something good.
I got an email from Jimmy Simak yesterday. \o/

I slept lying down last night!! I haven't done that for 3+ weeks! It's so much easier to sleep when you're lying down. I still woke up a few times, but I didn't have any major coughing fits, so that was nice.

I am still coughing and congested and run down and everything, but being able to sleep more normally is a major breakthrough IMO. I do go back to the doctor tomorrow at noon to check on things, but overall I feel - I hope - I'm past the worst of it. Keep your fingers crossed for me. And don't any of you get sick either! I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Still sick. Literally no better than I was two weeks ago. Slightly worse, actually. Going to the doctor at 4pm today. I'm not particularly hopeful that it'll do a lot of good, but it'll make Mom feel better if I go. Heh.

Can't sleep. Can't lay down in bed 'cause I start coughing like crazy. So I sit up against a bunch of pillows and sort of doze a bit when my body lets me. Then when I wake up, I'm 20x more congested than I was when I closed my eyes, and I was already super congested. Um... point being, I AM SO FUCKING EXHAUSTED I CAN'T STAND IT.

Every few days, I think I'm starting to feel a little bit better, and think that maybe - just maybe - I'm over the worst of it. Then within hours of thinking that, it slams me again. What is this thing? Not just a Supercold - it's a Supercold with demon powers or something.

Anyway... yeah.

And since I saw it in [livejournal.com profile] mlleelizabeth's LJ and was curious and it required basically no physical or mental exertion on my part...

Still here. Still alive.

Still boring as hell. )

Okay. Gonna take my drugs and go to bed. Wasn't that an exciting post?
jenepherre: (Me Zwinky blah)
Huge thanks to everyone for their well wishes on my last post.  It must have helped - no pus pockets here!  It was 'just' a cold, although I feel like I'm still recovering from it.  I've just been exhausted and sleeping a ridiculous number of hours a day - though never more than 2 or 3 hours at a time UGH.  Add to that my monthly loathing of my uterus and my gradually increasing problems - back, neck and chest pain and headaches - due to my over-sized boobs... and things aren't fun physically.  But... that's all taking a back seat for the moment.

Mom spent most of the day in the emergency room today.  Her blood pressure was really low (74/46) and she was really dizzy and lightheaded and nauseated.  They gave her IV fluids and did a ton of lab work and got her BP back up into the normal range.  The lab work really didn't show anything that just jumped out and said "this is what caused the drop in BP."  There were a few levels that were slightly off, but nothing really significant.  She's home tonight, but still not feeling well and has a doctor's appt. tomorrow.  I've had major issues with her doctor's prescribing habits for years now, and the fact that he's had her on BP medicine when she hasn't had high blood pressure in quite some time and has never had excessively high blood pressure makes me especially irritated now.  I've never met the man, but I plan to tomorrow.  One way or another, I'm going to that appointment with her.  I've been 'threatening' to accompany my Mom to one of her doc appointments for a long time now, and this ER visit today was the last straw.  There have been all sorts of other medication issues too, but I won't get into all that here.  My Dad sees this same doctor and has had the same kinds of problems with prescribing issues.  Nothing illegal, mind you.  Just an excessive belief in 'better living through chemicals' and dosing and drug choices that constantly make us all go "huh?"  So we'll see what he has to say tomorrow.

Now, I must try to get some decent, restful sleep.  Drugs will probably be necessary.

I'm sick.  Runny nose.  Massively sore throat.  Low grade fever.  Please please no pus pockets this time... please?

That is all.  Going back to bed.
jenepherre: (Me Zwinky blah)
Holy sleeping pills, Batman! I got my doc to give me some Ambien CR to try, because regular Ambien and some of the other prescription sleeping pills do help me get to sleep, but none of the ones I've tried get me all the way through the night. So - controlled release - good idea, right? You know how all the commercials for those pills say only to take them "when you're able to devote a full 8 hours to sleep" - well fuck that. Try 12+ hours. I took the lower strength - he gave me samples of both the 6.25mg and the 12.5mg - and I'm almost afraid to take another one tonight because I was just zonked all day long. Didn't quite expect it to work that well. And since they're controlled release, you can't break them in half or anything. Hmmm...

Totally unrelated, but I sent out an email to a few of the long time Nick Lea fans that I remember from the good ol' X-File days - mainly ones who have their own Nick-related websites - because I'm going to be setting up the new Nick fanlisting. Looking for some ideas and input on pics to use and a catchy title for it and all sorts of stuff like that. If any of you are interested in getting involved, let me know and I'll send you the details. Part of the reason I signed up for it was because I'd really like to see some of the long time die-hard Nick fans involved in it, because I know they - we - care about it the most.  So let me know if you're interested, okay?

Well, better get to bed.  If I'm going to take another Ambien CR, it's certainly better to take it now - before midnight - than at 4:30am, right?  Night all.
