Yeah - I do know about that site. Herb runs that forum... he and I have communicated a few times. He's become quite the advocate for the VNS for Depression web community. If you look on my VNS Diary page at the links section, you'll see his site is one of several listed. ;-)

Okay, that's really weird. I just clicked on the link to the vnsdepression.com board in your post, and it takes me to the *other* VNS message board. There's this one: http://www.vnsdepression.com/ and then there's this one: http://s4.invisionfree.com/VNS_Message_Board/index.php Did you mean to do that?

Anyway, there's plenty of data regarding vocal cord damage from the vns implant surgery and voice problems after surgery, but I haven't found any data on patients who have *pre-existing* vocal cord damage, specifically paralysis on the opposite side from where the vns is attached. It's a rather unusual situation.
