Need movie recs

Let's pretend ::cough:: that I've seen practically no new movies in the past 6 years. I just joined Blockbuster Online, and I need recommendations. What (other than The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) do you recommend? I like romance, but not too mainstream. I like drama. I like some sci-fi. Anything with a gay theme will go to the top of the list. But I'm open to anything you want to recommend.

So how about it?

ETA: I knew this kind of post would get a fair number of responses, but wow. Now I might have to actually keep my Blockbuster Online membership. LOL You can keep reccing, but I think my list is long enough for now, and plenty of them are currently available too. Thanks everybody!

I was suprised at how good Butterfly Effect was becasue it seemed to me that they marketed it more like yet another Ashton goof ball movie.

Really? It seemed to me that they marketed it like a sci-fi thriller. People might have taken it as goofball marketing because at that point they just weren't prepared to take him seriously
