Finally got my hair cut, and other stuff

So... I haven't had my hair cut in ages... I trimmed a little bit off before my trip back east, but that was in May of last year. Before that, I chopped a bunch of it off myself... um... a few years ago. I posted pics then too, but I don't feel like looking for the post right now. But the last time I had my hair cut by a professional was in July of 2001. I remember, because it was right before my oldest niece's first birthday.

Well, I finally got around to doing it again. Only about 7 weeks or so before the same niece's 7th birthday. Ha.

To file under Misc. - LJ stuff I just noticed (good, for a change):

1 - to link to an LJ user, community or syndicated feed, you use the same code for all of them now: <*lj user="name of user, community or feed here"*> without the *'s of course. No more trying to remember which way to code it, and it automatically puts the correct icon in front of the name indicating which of those 3 things it is.

2 - You can set up a notification for the birthdays of everyone on your friends list. Just go to your Manage Message Settings page and it's in the second section, titled "Friends and Communities." Now if they would just add support for custom friends groups to that, it'd be perfect. Not sure I need a birthday notification for every single person/group/whatever on my f-list, no offense. ;-)

No idea how long these two things have been this way, but they were new to me, so they'll probably be new to someone else too.

I did not go to the hairdressers till I was 13 as my Dad believed girls should have long hair (patriarchal bastard). I have kept it short ever since.

I hope you are feeling better Jen, I do hope so, as you seem to tapping away at the keyboard again mate. As that QAF mum once said " sometimes you have to hang in there till the scenery changes" cheers Chris

Wow! That's definitely a hair cut! I don't think I'd have the guts to do that, but I wouldn't look nice with shorter hair, whereas you look lovely. I'm always proud of those who send their hair to locks of love! Maybe if my hair grows down to my knees I'd be able to do it (haha).

You look great!! Wish you lived closer to David and he could do that for you any old time. Locks of Love is lucky. I've only had my hair long once-that was my first year in college. Been shades of short ever since.

I had totally forgotten that my hair flips under on one side and flips out on the other...

My hair does the same damn thing when it's chin length and I blow it dry straight. The left side curls under & the right side flips out.

I like it!!! I've thought about doing Locks of Love. Mine is to my bum, but I'm afraid of what will happen without the weight to pull my curls down. Short hair and I aren't on speaking terms. ;)

i just received an email telling me i was declined my request to join this community and it said to contact the maintainers so thats what i am doing.
