DAMN YOU REE!

I am currently ripping no less than 17 CDs into iTunes - even though I have LOTS of other things I really should be doing - and it's ALL YOUR FAULT! Damn addictive disco music. ::pouts:: Okay, so I did already own 17 disco cds, but that's totally not the point! I wouldn't be all caught up in listening to this irritatingly catchy music if it weren't for your B/J Disco Fever mix. No, I'm not gonna link to it. I won't contribute to others being afflicted with this fever I have.

And yes... I might post a playlist and a few songs later. Damn it all.

Anybody remember "Funkytown" by Lipps, Inc.? hehehehe

I remember the 80s remake by Pseudo Echo! :D

Ah, the glory days of Casablanca Records, home of Lipps Inc., Donna Summer, Kiss and the Village People. *iz nostalgic*

Would you believe that the CD I'm ripping right now is Casablanca Records Greatest Hits!?!? LOL

Now that you mention it - I remember the Pseudo Echo remake too! But I have to admit, I remember when the original version was on the radio. I was only about 12 years old, but I remember it well.

::joins you in the nostalgia::

Not only do I have no pride icons, I have no Brian and/or Justin dancing icons. Me = LAME

oh yes!
Disco wasn't my fav, but I liked soooo much of the music. BTW have you heard one of the Village People is saying their songs weren't gay themed?

[identity profile] jenepherre.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I hadn't heard that, but it doesn't totally surprise me. I'm not sure how many of the guys are actually gay, but I know some of them are straight. And the primary songwriters were the two producers of the band, one of whom was gay and one who's straight.

I ♥ Wikipedia. LOL

BWHAHAHA!

There simply cannot be enough disco music on one's ipod LOL

I remember the Pseudo Echo version of "Funkytown", which I used to bop around to.

I'm supposed to be cleaning my bathroom, but instead I'm online! Procrastinators Unite!!

You are so awesome!!! I love it when people agree with me. hahahaha Must have lots of disco on the ipod and procrastination is good!

How is your back doing? Weren't you going to see a neurosurgeon? Give us an update on Rrambles sometime when you're up to it, okay? Or just tell me - I'm fine with that too. ;-)

[identity profile] in-the-tropics.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
My back is....meh!

It's kinda a "faded into the background-dull" pain most of the time, and I've worked out how to move to lessen the pain.

The pain that was running down my arm is gone thankfully, so that's something! Yay for super-duper anti-inflammatories.

I see the nuero-surgeon on Friday of this week. I'm really nervous about that - I so DON'T want to have surgery!

Did you finish ripping the cd's?

[identity profile] frostbite-las.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yes yes I remember Funkytown and I have to admit to downloading it to my iPod. I love that song. LOL

I saw something about a B/J disco fanmix thingy but I avoided it because I didn't want to get caught up and start downloading anymore disco tunes than i already have on the iPod. Stop the madness Jen. LOL

In our exercise class one of the routines is You should be Dancing and I am having a blast with that one. Ah the good old days of disco. Leticia

Be proud of yourself for resisting the B/J disco fanmix! Although [livejournal.com profile] url_girl did a super-awesome job on it. Brian and Justin have disco afros asdjkld;jsdj;!!!

I still have 3 CDs to go, and my Disco playlist has over 100 songs already! Help me!!??!!

LOL! When I got my iPod, I had this massive CD ripping session that took days! Then I got bored and decided to do something else until I felt in the mood for another massive CD ripping session. Got my whole collection on my iPod now...it's a bit of a mixture but - hey - music at my fingertips!

MUAHAHAHAHAHA! I feel so evol, yet proud. >;D
