ETA: Added a bit more of the lyrics for the ones that haven't been guessed yet. Included hints on some of the more obscure ones too. Try again, you guys. I know you can get more of them than you have so far. I know you can. Or send your friends over to guess. It'll be fun... come on... please?
No one can blame you for walking awayUnderground - David Bowie -
But too much rejection, uh huh...
No love injectiondarksylvia
- He thinks he's Oscar Wilde but he's Paul Lynde
Can't say anything good about anything
(the band was mentioned in season 1 of QAF) My baby moves at midnight- You Should Be Dancing - The Bee Gees -
Goes right on till the dawn
My woman takes me higher
My woman keeps me warmrgrandixie
(from the late 70's)Take me out tonightThere Is A Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths -
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alivefalling_words
I'm crazy flowing over with ideasLove to Hate You - Erasure -katya23
- Then when you let it
You asked for nothing
Why don't you share it
All of the time you live
There's something out there
(a bit more obscure, I think, though a lot of you should know the band) - The means are right for taking, fade to grey
Trying to be ruthless, in the face of beauty
In this matrix, it's plain to see
It's either you or me. I'm ridin' in your carFire - The Pointer Sisters -
You turn on the radio
You're pullin' me close
I just say no
I say I don't like it
But you know I'm a liarrgrandixie
(lots of speculation on this one... and the most embarrassing one on the list for me - also from the late 70's)We're caught in a trap I can't walk outSuspicious Minds - Elvis Presley (and later covered by Fine Young Cannibals) -i_am_tre
You wear guiltHalo - Depeche Mode -
Like shackles on your feet
Like a halo in reverse
I can feel
The discomfort in your seat
And in your head it's worsekatya23
Maybe in you I'll believe Maybe I'll believe in youCrumb By Crumb - Rufus Wainwright -calidearie
- Last night I saw a movie
and I thought about many movies I've seen at your house
excuse me if I'm rude
but I'd rather that we just strike from the record ones I'd see again without you
leaning on my shoulder
distracting me from the plotline
(early song by a band we're all talking about right now) - Can you feel me coming
open the door it's only me
I have that desperate feeling
in trouble is where I'm going to be
(artist has a tie-in to artist for #10) - Hey now the well run dry
Pages of the book on fire
Read the writing ...on the wall...
Hoedown, say showdown
Everywhere you look
they're fighting...Hear the call...
(classic rock, was probably used on Supernatural) I don't get many things right the first timeThe Luckiest - Ben Folds -
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls
Brought me herefalling_words
(I love this song so damn much... incredibly beautiful)- Jamie's on the bathroom floor she don't know why
She's shaking underneath the sink can't feel a thing
She'd love to live a life she's afraid of failure
With all the voices in her head
Now what was that I thought I hear you scream
(slightly more obscure; Canadian artist who has a tie-in to a Canadian ex-gf of Gale Harold) - Sucking on a tap that never dries
Could you take it right between your eyes
Bending blood, bending blood
The father stood, the father's hood
Like shadow on an acid bird that etched her way across a field
So long ago
(I don't really expect anyone to get this one. English singer/songwriter. Lyrics tend to be very surrealist, focusing on death, eating or sex. Also had a small acting role in 2004's The Manchurian Candidate) - A house on fire
A wall of stone
A door that once was open
An empty face and empty bones
Who ate your heart?
You're cold inside
You're not the one I hoped for
I'll see you on the other side
I'll see you on the other side It's you, you, you againMinimal Peach - Greek Buck -darksylvia
You are the lighthouse, the seamarkEcho - The Hush Sound -disc0_dancer
- I'm in a mess, I'm in a dress
There's nothing from here till tomorrow morning
How will I get there?
How will I get there?
I don't do drugs
All my friends are on their holidays
(I have a love/hate relationship with one of the words in the title of this song) - Unbidden shadows of you formed yesterday
I ran away to a room here on the bay
Interrupted life again, another new beginning
Where the silence echoes you're no longer with me
Here and now, i feel that i'm embracing freedom
Even though i may be alone, but that's ok
(artist does very ethereal sounding music; they had a remix of one of their songs used in season 2 of QAF) These are the days of the open handPraying for Time - George Michael -katya23
- Baby, when you walk that sweet walk
Oh, you walk it good, yes you walk it good
Baby, when you talk that sweet talk
Oh, it sounds so good, oh so good
(classic rock; title has a tie-in to a Cobra bandmember) - She had something to confess to
But you don’t have the time so
Look the other way
You will wait until it's over
To reveal what you’d never shown her
Too little much too late
(I don't even know this song well, but love the artist, who has a tie-in to the Twilight saga)
There's a pretty wide variety in there. I did have to skip over a few instrumental songs, and I skipped over one where the first line was the song title. Can't make it too easy, right? So... guesses? And should I post what the songs are after a few days or something?
Hints: There's a couple of classic rock songs in there, a fair amount of 70's, 80's and 90's music, and there are two by FBR/Decaydance artists.

I still recognise 1 and 21 but idk.
re 12 I had to cheat cause of the main band were talking about rn bit and I gotta say I've not got that song by them.

1 has been guessed now too.
21 - I looked on your last.fm profile, and this band is on the list of artists you've listened to, but they're way way down on the list. I can try and come up with a hint for you if you want.
12 - assuming we are talking about the same band, it's very possible you don't have this song. It's from their very first album. I'll probably post the names of the songs that haven't been guessed in a day or two.

And I thought I had all of 12's first album hmm maybe I've not, I hardly listen to it really.

5. Love to Hate You by Erasure
8. that Turn the Radio Up song? I don't know who sang it, but I really loved it when I was in high school.
23. Praying for Time George Michael
I KNOW I know more of them.

Check out the edited post. I added a bit more of the lyrics for each of the songs that haven't been guessed yet, including #8. You were right, of course, about #5 and #23. And Leah really should try guessing #1 again. She'll kick herself when she figures it out. LOL

15 is Ben Folds - "The Luckiest"

And I mean this in no way as a hate on The Smiths but David Ford does the most heart breaking cover of that song I've ever heard in my life. Absolutely gorgeous. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWZdtm2apAA

I did one of these a while ago and I think you've already got more correct guesses than I did. I'm not sure whether to blame my odd music taste or my small flist.

Of course I don't mind. As long as you don't mind that I haven't been posting much recently. :D I friended you back. (I believe we also share an...appreciation of Jon Walker?)
(Oh, and hilariously, G and I heard song number 8 on the way up to Portland yesterday. I got all excited and said something along the lines of "Oh! Oh! This is that driving in the car song!" G just looked at me funny)

An appreciation for Jon Walker. OMG YES. Check out my icon page (Panic-related stuff starts about halfway down). He is one of several Men Who Own Me™. Such a gorgeous and sweet man.

AND he's a bass player. Can you get any nearer to perfection? :D
