Christmas at my sister's was great. Little Scotty loves his Auntie Jen and it got to the point where my sister would hand him to me when he started crying. Of course that's mainly because if she's holding him but not feeding him, he cries. I don't have that mommy-smell, so I guess he can actually get his mind off food for a minute when I hold him. I even - good auntie that I am - changed a dirty diaper. Both of my other nephews were circumcised before they went home from the hospital, but Scotty is being done in the clinic next week, so he looks different down there. LOL Requires a bit more cleaning than the other boys did at this age. But hey - he didn't pee on me, so it's all good.

I got lots of cool stuff for Christmas, and we've only had half of our Christmas so far. Just the parents and sister. Both of my brothers had to be elsewhere this year, but are coming next week, when we'll have a second Christmas. And huge thanks and hugs to all my friends for their Christmas prezzies too - be they material or emotional. It might take me a while to write all of you personally and thank you though.

I want my puppy...

It's really hitting me today that she's gone. I keep expecting to see her come and peek in my door while I'm on the computer, hoping I'm not really involved in what I'm doing on the 'puter and that I'll stop and lavish her with puppy dog love for a few minutes.

And I have this really, really adorable pic of her as a puppy - we got her when she was about 2 months old, I think. But in the pic she still has her silky soft puppy hair and looks just so cute and I CAN'T FUCKING FIND THE PICTURE! ::sigh::

Here's another pic of Scotty though:
Scotty's First Christmas - 6 days old

He's such a sweetie.

Sorry I'm so crappy at responding to emails right now. Communicating through LJ seems to be easier for me right now. Which isn't necessarily good, since not all of my friends are on LJ. ::sigh::

Huge thanks to everyone who's commented on LJ and/or written me privately. I do appreciate it. I just fucking hate this time of year and - not that there's ever a good time - this was almost the worst time losing Misha could happen. I'm just struggling to keep it together.

It helps that my bro and sis-in-law from SoCal are arriving on Monday with their kids - 3 year old Ian and 1 1/2 year old Sonya. All of whom I ADORE. Ian has been very concerned about Misha the past couple of times he's been here, because she was having so much trouble walking due to her arthritis. He actually called - with his mom's help, of course - a couple of different times after they were home again to say he wanted to come visit and that he was going to fix Misha all better. Such a sweet kid.

I better go wrap their presents, because once they're here there will be no place to hide them unwrapped. They love invading Auntie Jen's room and jumping on her bed and playing with all her stuffed Eeyores. And watching the birdie fly around the room (Ian: "Make it fwy!" LOL).
