Hope you like. On the odd chance you need a different size, leave me a note and I'll fix it up for you.

Huge thanks and hugs to all who left me birthday wishes! If anyone posted in their own journal and I didn't comment on it, please tell me. I did read through my friends page on my b-day, but so so far from perfect and could have missed something. And I don't want to miss anything, 'cause I love you all. Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aqualegia for the yummy virtual cocktail. :-D

To all of you, from me:

Not going to talk about how incredibly disappointed I am in California's Supreme Court. Just know that I am incredibly disappointed, but not really surprised.

That is all for now! Yay for real LJ entries, y/y?

Ryan and Keltie are still together. Both Ryan and his friend (and ex-gf) Kate - who does bear a striking resemblance to Keltie - confirmed this when I met both of them after the Phantom Planet show on Friday night. Actually it was at about 2am Saturday morning, but whatever.

Read more here: http://community.livejournal.com/teamwags/21023.html?thread=78367#t78367
and here: http://community.livejournal.com/fueled_bygossip/165857.html?thread=6889441#t6889441

The whole concept of ~rumors is just... I don't know. I just love the way they come flying out of the mouths (and/or keyboards) of people who haven't even made an effort to find out the truth. Wild assumptions FTW! Not.

I can't honestly say 100% for certain that there was no making out. I didn't have my eyes on them throughout the entire show. I mean... I was there to see Phantom Planet, not make sure Ryan wasn't cheating on his girlfriend. But to me, Ryan's body language definitely didn't look like that of a person who was with anyone other than a good friend. Kate was playing with Ryan's hair and putting her head on his shoulder and they did have their arms around each other at times, but I didn't see anything remotely resembling making out.

I *can* say that I met and talked to both Ryan and Kate after the show. Kate introduced herself to me while Ryan was talking to some other fans, and she and I talked for several minutes. She told me that she and Ryan dated a bit back before Ryan met Keltie and that they've stayed friends ever since. We had a significant enough conversation that when Ryan came back over to us, he said (while smiling - I swear he was smiling the whole night), "Are you girls bonding?" I just said "yep" and grinned. Kate said "Jennifer, I love you, man" and gave me a big hug. She uses the expression "man" the way some people call everyone "dude" or whatever. ::shrug::

Ryan claimed to recognize me from the Panic M&G's I've met him at. I suppose he could at least remember that he'd seen my face before - I have met him twice this year. He and I talked a bit about Black Gold. According to him, Eric was supposed to be at the show as well, but bailed because he and Than have been working on their latest video.

There's more, including my pic with Ryan that Kate took, but I'll post all that later. Oh - and I do know why Keltie's blog makes it sound a little like she and Ryan are breaking up. They aren't, but I know now what she means about the timing being wrong. I'm not going to explain further than that, except to say again that according to both Kate and Ryan, Ryan and Keltie are still together.

Anyway, I'm going back to bed. Been sleep deprived for a couple of days due to the trip to LA and back. It was SO INCREDIBLY WORTH IT THOUGH OMG!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE ALEX, DARREN, JEFF AND SAM AND I LOVE RYAN ROSS, who was SO NICE to me even though he was sick and yes... I love you too, Kate. You didn't know me at all, and you were so friendly and sweet. Thank you for that. Oh, and I did get a hug from each of the guys in Phantom Planet, and a hug from Ryan as well. Life is good. And I want to move to LA so badly I can taste it.

P.S. - Someone posted some great pics from the show here: http://www.thecobrasnake.com/partyphotos/lastphantomplanet/ I don't see Kate in any of them though.

I just posted a quick report on my adventures from last night over on [livejournal.com profile] blackgoldrush. Click here.

I ♥ Black Gold!!!
jenepherre: (PATD Ryan b/w funny faces animation)
I am going to see Black Gold in LA on Sunday night! Yes! I made it work. I had dreamed up a plan to go down there and see them Sunday and stay a few days visiting with my aunt, uncle and cousins and then see Black Gold play again on Wednesday night, but that was maybe a little over-ambitious and it won't, unfortunately, work out (free accommodations are only available on Sunday night). But still - Sunday night! Black Gold! YES!!!

Any LA people want to go with me?

In other wonderfully fabulous news, [livejournal.com profile] darksylvia and I both have our plane reservations for our Panic At The Disco concert exchange extravaganza! She's flying down here for the Sacramento show (Oct. 12th), then we're both flying back to Seattle for the show up there (Oct. 14th), and then I'm staying a few extra days with her. Because she's so awesome and wonderful and cool.

And did I mention that WE'RE SEEING PANIC AT THE DISCO TOGETHER AGAIN??? TWICE???? That will make 4 times we have seen them together this year. This is also incredibly awesome and wonderful and cool. :-D

I ♥ you Leah!! We get to reinvent ♥ with Panic AGAIN!!!

I don't suppose any of my Los Angeles area friends would be willing to let me crash at their place for one night, would they? Thursday the 31st. Turns out my usual place to stay in SoCal - my uncle's house in Orange - is already 'booked.' My aunt initially said I could stay with them anyway, but they changed their mind... decided it would be uncomfortable for their other guests. Which is understandable. But I already purchased my theater ticket to see Long Way Down in Century City.

I'll only lose $11 on the ticket if I can't make it after all (and I'll save about $100 in gas money), but I was going to that theater so I could meet Jimmy Simak - the gorgeous guy in my icon. He's one of the directors of photography on Long Way Down as well as the music supervisor, and we've gotten to be friends online over the past couple of years (since I first saw him and his work in Long Way Round, actually), and now I finally have a chance to meet him in person. I wrote and asked him about me coming to the screening he'll be at, and got the most awesome, encouraging and sweet email back from him. Awwwwww.

I'm looking at hotels down there, but I'm just not sure I can justify the cost. I don't know. Anyway, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask my f-list for ideas, or see if anyone in the area has a spare bit of floor I can sleep on.

(originally from here)

OMG, how much do I love Greta and Alex?? Even though it must be tough for them, I love that The Hush Sound and Phantom Planet have been sharing a bus for the entire Honda Civic Tour and have ended up doing silly little things like make up songs about cereal together. It's adorable! Plus, I have a little crush on Alex. I do. He's gorgeous and tries so hard to look grungy and ugly, but it doesn't work Alex! And his corny sense of humor and his spazzing on (and off) stage and his creepy little laughs between lines of "Do The Panic." Yes. Just... yes. Plus, he used to model for The Gap. hahahaha
jenepherre: (PATD Spencer No Waltzing my friend)
Hi all!

Thanks so much to everyone who left me birthday wishes or sent me v-gifts or e-cards or even just thought about me on or around my birthday Sunday (that pretty much covers everyone, right? LOL). I had a very nice day with my brother, sis-in-law, niece and 3 nephews complete with Baskin Robbins ice cream cake - my favorite! The three older kids sang Happy Birthday to me, which was *hilarious!* All 3 really know how to ham it up! LOL

I've been here in Virginia for about 4 1/2 weeks now and I fly home on Saturday. I really want to stay though!

It's been an eventful month - both good and bad - and I hope you all will forgive me for being scarce. I've spent a *lot* of time helping with my new nephew, who is now about 10 weeks old. He's the fourth child for my brother and his wife, and the other 3 are really a handful, so I've had fun playing with the adorable baby who coos and smiles at me while the parents wrangle the other kids. Actually, all 4 kids are pretty wonderful and I'm going to miss them terribly when I leave.

Events (other than the Panic At The Disco concert in DC on April 30th, which I never really did a proper post about and probably never will now, but it was fantastic!!!) of the past few weeks:

A few days after the Panic concert, I slipped on the stairs and badly bruised my ankle (I thought that was the worse injury at the time) and bruised/possibly fractured my tailbone. My ankle is fine now. My tailbone? Not so much. I haven't been to the doctor or anything - not sure they're much they can do anyway other than confirm whether or not it's fractured - but it hurts a *lot.* I'm fine if I'm just standing or lying down or (in most chairs) sitting, but going from standing to sitting or vice versa is excruciating. It hasn't slowed me down too much though.

We took all of the kids to see Speed Racer in IMAX. Not a movie I would normally care about, but watching it with the kiddos made it *so* much fun! They were literally dancing to the music that played over the end credits. It was so cute. :-D

My uncle - the one who had the brain aneurysm a few months ago - passed away about a week ago. I wanted to go to the funeral so badly - he really meant a lot to me - but there was just no way. My parents drove up to Idaho for it, but I stayed here in Virginia. My aunt was very understanding, of course, but I wish I could have found a way to be there that didn't cost close to $1000. If I'd been home in California at the time, I could have driven up with Mom & Dad, but... ::shrug:: That's the way it goes sometimes, I guess. My uncle did pass very peacefully at home in his own bed during his sleep, and we can't ask for much more than that, can we? It is a comfort to all of us to know that he's no longer trapped in a body that no longer allowed him to do the things he loved to do, or even the simple everyday things we all take for granted.

My internet time has be limited due to all of the above things, combined with only having an internet connection in one room of the house - a room you can't keep the kids out of no matter how hard you try. Heh. I'm not used to having to censure everything I read and view online. I've had to avoid porn and even most of the fanfic I usually read! It's been awful! Although [livejournal.com profile] darksylvia still hasn't posted any new bandslash, so I didn't miss anything there. Better get crackin' though, L. I'll be home in less than a week and I need new fic from you!!

TV watching has been non-existent. My brother doesn't have cable. Or satellite. Or even rabbit ears for his fancy widescreen TV home theater system. Can you imagine? I did see the movie Transformers though. With my 3 year old nephew shouting "Bumblebee" every few minutes. LOL But alas, I have seen no new episodes of Supernatural, nor have I seen Galeface's episode of Desperate Housewives. Though I heard his scene is really short? Hmmm.

It should come as no big surprise that I haven't kept up with my f-list at all. Happiest of birthdays to anyone whose birthday I missed. Hugs to anyone who needs them. High-fives (or my lame attempts at them - just ask Jon Walker haha) to anyone who has had happy, exciting moments.

It should also come as no surprise that... I think I had more I wanted to say, but I can't remember what... fairly typical of me really. If nothing else, I am predictable. ::lame grin::

Well, actually the pics are here: http://pics.livejournal.com/jenepherre/gallery/00035eqz

It's late (or early, rather) and I'm tired from taking care of the two youngest nephews all day Thursday and Friday... not sure how I ended up getting stuck with that, except that they both seem to respond to me, which is good, I guess. I do adore them. Anyway, too tired to actually post the pics in my journal, so you'll have to go to the above link to see them.

There are also random and mostly blurry Zack and Shane pics here: http://pics.livejournal.com/jenepherre/gallery/0003ed3z

I did have fun Shane-spotting. And did talk to him again briefly. He's filming some stuff for Black Gold along with all the stuff he's doing for Panic. Also met Eric (again) and Than from Black Gold, and they're both incredibly awesome.

My sis-in-law arrived sometime during Phantom Planet's set, but I was out meeting Eric and Than along with the super cool [livejournal.com profile] atorable. She and I met while waiting for the meet & greet and just happened to have seats almost right next to each other for the show. We went through the meet & greet together, squeed about the boys and hugs and talked about what pot flowers look like up close. It was THE BEST. ;-D

I have video clips too, but haven't figured out where to upload those yet, because they are glorious 640x480 and I don't want YouTube making them look crappy. Maybe I'll just upload to Sendspace? I don't know. Ideas are welcome.

On the downside - unrelated to the concert - I didn't go to NYC after all and didn't get to see Randypants in Antony & Cleopatra. Lois needed to stay home with her hubby after his surgery, and honestly - I was still recovering from the Panic concert anyway. Wren, my dear... I will have to find some other way to pay you back since I couldn't get you a Playbill. Sorry!

It's almost 5am here, and I should think about getting a little bit of sleep. More later, I'm sure. ::waves to [livejournal.com profile] darksylvia, [livejournal.com profile] celiarosalind and [livejournal.com profile] atorable and everyone else on her f-list::
jenepherre: (PATD Spencer profile smile)
I just got off the phone with Artist Arena, and they actually came through!! They just confirmed that I am "100% guaranteed" on the Meet & Greet list for the DC show, to make up for their fuck up in San Francisco. And [livejournal.com profile] darksylvia is on the M&G list for the Seattle show! YAY!!! Maybe Artist Arena is getting their act together, finally. I did point out to them that they misspelled words in their emails too. If you want people to give you money, you have to look professional and trustworthy, know what I mean?

Other good news about the DC show - BLACK GOLD WILL BE PLAYING AT IT!!!!!!!!!!! ERIC RONICK!!!!!!!! And hopefully Brendon will come out and sing the one part of Plans & Reveries with them! I can't wait! Next Wednesday!!!

Then on Friday, I head for NYC. See Randy in Antony & Cleopatra with Lois. Hopefully find time to go to Angels & Kings with [livejournal.com profile] celiarosalind (a mug shot of me in the same spot where Bdon was being silly/drunk! ::fingers crossed::). And do a little bit of sightseeing on Saturday before coming back to DC.

After all that... the big letdown. Nothing exciting planned after that. And a mega-huge credit card bill to pay off. But *so* worth it.

Having a lot of fun with my niece and nephews here. They are so much fun and so affectionate and so *smart.*

Ack - must go get dressed for dinner. We're going out to dinner for Dad's 74th birthday today.

P.S. - [livejournal.com profile] celiarosalind, I will email you after dinner tonight.

I'm here!

jenepherre: (PATD Jon looking like a GQ model)
I got to Washington DC safe and sound last night (Saturday). However, my main piece of luggage... not so lucky. Still don't know where it is, and Frontier Airlines didn't return any of my calls today. No one was answering the number they gave me to call, so I left a couple of messages. They were actually supposed to call me after the one flight from Denver arrived today (where we had a layover yesterday), but that didn't happen. Hmmm. Luckily I did pack a carry-on with essentials and stuff like you're supposed to, but only enough clothes for a couple of days. And I just want my stuff, you know?

Sorry for the lack of communication for a couple of days, but... traveling. Yay! Best excuse ever. LOL Plus, my bro doesn't have a wireless network, so there's only internet access in the den. And it's cold in the den. And not terribly comfortable. But still... it's not like I'm stuck going to a Starbucks or other WiFi hot spot to get my email.

My 6 week old nephew is gorgeous and loves his Auntie Jen already. Of course. ;-) The other 3 kids all seem pretty happy to see me too. "Auntie Jen, which book should I read you?" "Auntie Jen, come see my gecko!" (The gecko is way cool, btw.) And happy squealing and repeating his older siblings words from the 3 year old. I've missed these kids so much. Haven't seen them for a year.

Not sure what else there is to say at the moment. Not going to try and catch up on all the PATD news tonight. But it was fun to see the guys performing "Valerie" for BBC Live Lounge. Jon on piano!!! Is that awesome or what? Not just playing around during an interview, but actually playing it for a song. Awesomeness.

Will catch up on emails and reply to the LJ comments I've missed over the past couple of days tomorrow. Right now... sleep is needed.
jenepherre: (PATD Brendon RockStar HCT 4-10)
So, the post-concert (and post-missing the meet & greet) blues are easing up a bit, and I decided to post my pictures. I kinda stopped looking at all the pics other people are posting, but I still suspect these are pretty typical. I did go through and remove most of the blurry ones, but there are still a few that I thought were worth posting despite not being perfectly in focus. There are a few pics of Phantom Planet, The Hush Sound and Motion City Soundtrack as well, but it's mostly Panic At The Disco. And although I really made an effort to get pics of all the Panic guys, the majority of them are of Brendon. You just can't take your eyes off that boy. He's got some unexplainable magnetic thing going on. Seriously.

Phantom Planet )

The Hush Sound )

Motion City Soundtrack )

Panic At The Disco )

I looked through the few video clips I did that night again, and I won't be posting any of those. They're all short little clips - no full songs at all - and none are all that great. Maybe I'll do better at the DC show. Although it's not that my camera wasn't capable of it - it's that my arms weren't. Ugh.

I sort of have little stories to tell about the show last Thursday, but... I don't feel like typing them all out. So let me just say that Eric Ronick is awesome - and TALL. And Shane Valdés (or Valdez, take your pick) is so much hotter in person. No picture I've seen of him does him justice. And he's super nice. And no - I did not ask him about being roomies with Brendon or whether or not that shower pic really is of him and Brendon or anything. Which may have been part of the reason he was so nice and so willing to talk about everything from "The Making of Pretty. Odd." DVD (which he edited in only 3 days) to the fact that he's doing the whole tour with the band (lucky bastard).

Hopefully I'll get another chance to talk to Shane and actually get Eric's autograph on my Black Gold CD and get another chance at a meet & greet with Panic - the latter being something I'm currently fighting with Artist Arena about.

Oh! You can find my scans of the tour booklet here.

So, I'm off to the Washington DC area on Saturday, and will be out there until May 24th. For those who might be wondering, my brother and his family live near DC and I made plans some time ago to go visit them this summer. They just had a new baby about a month ago, and I can't wait to see the little guy. It just worked out well that Panic is doing their DC show while I'm out there. I'm also meeting [livejournal.com profile] llvoncan in NYC to see the closing night show of "Antony & Cleopatra" with Randy Harrison. And we're staying really close to the Angels & Kings bar, so I'm hoping to stop by there for a drink and a photo or something ([livejournal.com profile] celiarosalind - want to come with me?)... but I'll only be in NYC for about 30 hours, so we'll see. If any of my other east coast friends want to try and meet up while I'm out there, let me know.

Guess that's it for now.

WINS!!

From the Random Fact Generator:

Superman owns a pair of Jon Walker pajamas.

Oh yes. Yes he does!

For the non-Panic at the Disco fans on my f-list, Jon Walker is Panic's bass player, and is currently my default icon and the icon on this post. And Superman should totally idolize him. ::nods:: ::laughs::

Another one:

In the Bible, Jesus turned water into wine. But then Jon Walker turned that wine into beer.

Actually, I think he turned it into Jack. "I'd rather have a drink than... not have a drink." hehe

Oh [livejournal.com profile] darksylvia!!!! Another plot bunny for you!!

The active ingredient in Red Bull is Jon Walker's sweat.

Okay, I'll stop now. hehe

Hi all -

For those not already aware of it, I opened the all new Nicholas Lea fanlisting last week. http://nickfan.inxplicable.org/ If you're not sure what a fanlisting is, there's some info on that right on the homepage. Any and all Nick fans are welcome to add their name to the list - you don't need a website to be able to join.

If you were a member of the previous Nick fanlisting owned by Elena, you should have received an email announcing the new location. Elena was kind enough to provide me the old member list. I did get a ton of those announcements back indicating the email addresses were no longer valid though, so if you were a member and didn't get an email, that's probably why. You can update your information yourself if you still have access to the email address you're listed under on the site. Otherwise just send me an email and I'll be happy to help you out with it.

There are also some extras in the "Nick" section of the site:
  • A page full of Live Journal icons thanks to [info]drkcherry . I'm willing to host Nick icons for others who wants to submit them too. You'll definitely be credited for them.
  • A section of links to Nick websites that I intend to keep as current as possible. Please please suggest sites to be added to this list! Just one thing to keep in mind - since the fanlisting is for Nick as an actor, I'm only going to link to sites that include some content about him as an actor, so no fanfic-only sites, please.
  • There's also a short biography and filmography for Nick.

I'd love to hear what people think of the site and I'm always open to suggestions for additions and changes. And please forward this message to anyone else that you think might be interested. :-)

Six Feet Off The Ground - The Nicholas Lea Fanlisting

Holy sleeping pills, Batman! I got my doc to give me some Ambien CR to try, because regular Ambien and some of the other prescription sleeping pills do help me get to sleep, but none of the ones I've tried get me all the way through the night. So - controlled release - good idea, right? You know how all the commercials for those pills say only to take them "when you're able to devote a full 8 hours to sleep" - well fuck that. Try 12+ hours. I took the lower strength - he gave me samples of both the 6.25mg and the 12.5mg - and I'm almost afraid to take another one tonight because I was just zonked all day long. Didn't quite expect it to work that well. And since they're controlled release, you can't break them in half or anything. Hmmm...

Totally unrelated, but I sent out an email to a few of the long time Nick Lea fans that I remember from the good ol' X-File days - mainly ones who have their own Nick-related websites - because I'm going to be setting up the new Nick fanlisting. Looking for some ideas and input on pics to use and a catchy title for it and all sorts of stuff like that. If any of you are interested in getting involved, let me know and I'll send you the details. Part of the reason I signed up for it was because I'd really like to see some of the long time die-hard Nick fans involved in it, because I know they - we - care about it the most.  So let me know if you're interested, okay?

Well, better get to bed.  If I'm going to take another Ambien CR, it's certainly better to take it now - before midnight - than at 4:30am, right?  Night all.

So obviously I rarely reply to the wonderful wonderful ::insert many bubbles here:: comments that you all leave on my posts, thus I probably do not deserve a response to this request, but I'm gonna make it anyway. If you think I suck too much (and I've been told I'm pretty good at it, though unlike Justin, I don't enjoy it all that much), feel free to ignore.

Does anyone have Gale's 2 Street Time episodes in .avi or .mpg format? Pretty please?? I want to put them on my gorgeous new ::cough:: 80GB video iPod ::cough:: (which I also no doubt don't deserve but have been lovingly gifted with anyway).

Besides my entire mp3 collection - which takes up half of the space, seriously - I also have on it:
Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake ::loves::
Will Kemp's Gap Commercial ::also loves::
A couple of hot pr0nny clips ::lusts::
Both of Gale's eps of Deadwood ::western!Gale::
Both of Gale's eps of The Unit ::hippie!Gale::
And some other odds and ends

But I really want to add rockstar!Gale to that collection. And I wouldn't mind adding crazydoctor!Gale to it too if anyone has his L&O:SVU ep in .avi or .mpg. I have most of his movies - just haven't converted them yet. Has anyone determined yet if the newer version of The Unseen - the one being sold on Amazon with a real DVD case and cover art - has any extras or anything not included on the earlier cardboard envelope encased version? I already have 2 different versions of Wake. I suppose having 2 versions of The Unseen wouldn't kill me. Heh.

In other news, yes, I am starting to feel better. I hate my haircut right now, because I miss being able to just pull it up in a ponytail and it's right at a length where I can't do that and it IRRITATES ME!! But I don't regret having gotten it cut. And - I do have pretties in the works to share with you all. Mostly non-fandom stuff. Icons and fractals and random stuff, but really... I think there'll be something in there for everyone. ::nods:: ::ponders:: ::hopes::

Off to clean the bathroom. In a minute. Just have a couple more things to do online, and then I'll get to it, I swear.

Just posting to say hi and thank you to those who have left kind words here for me recently. Or anytime, really. I know I'm terrible about personally replying to people, but I really do appreciate those of you who take the time to leave me a note.

I'm not sure what made me think of this today, but I just had to see Will Kemp's Gap commercial... this man owns me. Well, several men own me, actually. Gale Harold. Jensen Ackles. Mmmm... Jensen. What was I talking about?

Will's Gap commercial, for your viewing pleasure... )

Night all! Pleasant dreams!

This little electrified smiley that I used on my post from yesterday? Doesn't seem quite so funny today. See here for more details.

Um... lots of other stuff I need to deal with, but it'll have to wait. Like my post about needing someone to do [livejournal.com profile] galerandylove new member apps while I'm on vacation. [livejournal.com profile] darksylvia? It's really easy, and you should already be getting the notices from LJ. We'll talk off LJ after I've had some rest.

Oh - tiny little amusement to share... my magnet that can be used to temporarily shut off my VNS implant? If you hold it too close to the computer screen, the screen goes kinda darker and gets these purple and green hues to it. hehehe If you keep moving it around in front of the screen, whatever's on the screen will start distorting. Yeah, I should be careful not to damage my monitor, but it was funny. To me anyway. And degaussing the monitor clears up any little left-over effects. Hey - simple minds, simple pleasures.

Speaking of pleasures...

His name is Jenny, just like me! But don't even think about calling me Jenny. OMG... melting...

Hopefully that'll give me some sweet dreams.

Updated my VNS diary last night, in case anyone is interested. I'm doing pretty good, all things considered.

DismayStill haven't got my fanart site back up - mainly because I'm just too damn picky.  Hopefully I'll have it up before I go on vacation next month.

Ach!  That reminds me!  I need to find a new co-moderator for [livejournal.com profile] galerandylove. Obviously I should post a message over there, but if anyone sees this and is interested, send me a note.

Oh - trailer for Gale's movie "East Broadway" is up on the Tribeca Film Festival site.  Click here.  Gale looks gorgeous, for the most part, but I'm just not buying the romance in it.

Computing More later maybe.  Stuff to do.

P.S. - LJ's rich text editor is total crap.
