I just got off the phone with Artist Arena, and they actually came through!! They just confirmed that I am "100% guaranteed" on the Meet & Greet list for the DC show, to make up for their fuck up in San Francisco. And [livejournal.com profile] darksylvia is on the M&G list for the Seattle show! YAY!!! Maybe Artist Arena is getting their act together, finally. I did point out to them that they misspelled words in their emails too. If you want people to give you money, you have to look professional and trustworthy, know what I mean?

Other good news about the DC show - BLACK GOLD WILL BE PLAYING AT IT!!!!!!!!!!! ERIC RONICK!!!!!!!! And hopefully Brendon will come out and sing the one part of Plans & Reveries with them! I can't wait! Next Wednesday!!!

Then on Friday, I head for NYC. See Randy in Antony & Cleopatra with Lois. Hopefully find time to go to Angels & Kings with [livejournal.com profile] celiarosalind (a mug shot of me in the same spot where Bdon was being silly/drunk! ::fingers crossed::). And do a little bit of sightseeing on Saturday before coming back to DC.

After all that... the big letdown. Nothing exciting planned after that. And a mega-huge credit card bill to pay off. But *so* worth it.

Having a lot of fun with my niece and nephews here. They are so much fun and so affectionate and so *smart.*

Ack - must go get dressed for dinner. We're going out to dinner for Dad's 74th birthday today.

P.S. - [livejournal.com profile] celiarosalind, I will email you after dinner tonight.

HI! I should totally be in bed right now, but I was so close to having my new LJ layout done... I just had to finish it and get it up. Come look!

Beyond that, things are going pretty damn good. The depression is so much better than it has been in years. If only my body was in good enough shape physically to keep up with my mood... but I'm slowly working on that.

So... things going on with me, in no particular order:

  • I have to get bifocals. :-(

  • I am leaving in a few hours for Los Angeles. Will be staying with my uncle near Anaheim and going to the Panic At The Disco mini-concert on Tuesday that they're doing for the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. Yay!

  • I really need to color my hair. I wanted to do that before this LA trip, but it's not looking good, time-wise. Maybe I can do it at my uncle's house. Not ideal, but ::shrug::

  • Panic's new album - called Pretty. Odd. - officially comes out on Tuesday, and it is PHENOMENAL. Yes, I've already heard the whole thing. MTV.com has been streaming it since the 18th, and there are wonderful Panic fans who know how to rip that stuff. Thank you fellow Panic fans!

  • [livejournal.com profile] darksylvia - who is awesome - is going with me to see Panic on the first night of the Honda Civic Tour, which they are headlining. This is on April 10th in San Francisco. YAY!!!!!

  • I became an auntie for the 9th time on March 10th. Another nephew, making a total of 5 nephews and 4 nieces. Baby Samuel is perfect, of course.

  • I leave for DC (my brother's place in Virginia, actually) on April 19th and am staying until May 24th. Lots of time to get to know baby Samuel and get reacquainted with his wonderful siblings and parents.

  • While I'm in Virginia, I'm taking a little over a day to go up to NYC and see Randy Harrison in Antony & Cleopatra. Another YAY moment!

  • I put up ticker thingies for all these big events that are coming up on my profile page. I'm a dork that way. LOL

  • I know there's more, but that's all I can think of for now. Not much detail on some of those things, but I have no time! All of last week was crazy busy, and until I get back from LA Wednesday evening, this week will be the same. And really, if you think about it, I've got major stuff going on from now until I get back from Virginia toward the end of May. Isn't that awesome? I actually have a life!

Well, better get to bed. Later all!

Happy New Year!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Just think, that Mayan prophecy of the end of the world is less than 5 years away now! Whoo-hoo!

On a somewhat more interesting note...
  • 2008 is a leap year

  • It is the International year of Planet Earth, the Potato and Sanitation

  • The iPhone will be released in Canada (hopefully without that annoying "it's still 2007" error)

  • Bill Gates will step down from daily duties at Microsoft after 3 decades (I predict this will have absolutely no effect on the frequency with which my father blames Bill for every problem related to technology, commerce and the world in general)

  • Summer Olympic Games (XXIX Olympiad) will take place in China

  • The US will elect its 44th president (PLEASE VOTE!)

  • Due to the previous item,GEORGE W. BUSH WILL NO LONGER BE OUR 'PRESIDENT'!!!! That fact alone makes it a year to look forward to!

Lots of other things will happen too, I'm sure. More starlets will publicly make train wrecks of their lives. Hopefully the writer's strike will come to an end quickly. And it should go without saying that I want war to end and our soldiers to come home.

== AS FOR ME PERSONALLY ==

I'm going to spend 2 or 3 months with my brother and his family near Washington DC! This will mean that plans must be made for east coast fan gatherings and events. Tickets to Randy's play(s) must be acquired. And someone will hopefully volunteer to give me the grand (but affordable) tour of New York City, as I have never been there.

I haven't decided exactly when to go yet, but I'm thinking the earliest I'd arrive would be at the end of March. It really depends a lot on what events will be happening and when. Do I want to see Randy in Antony & Cleopatra in April? Or hope that he'll get a good role in Stockbridge in July (or August)?

Any ideas or advice for me? I'm spending 2 months - possibly 3 - out there for the express purpose of doing some sightseeing, meeting some awesome people and going to some fantastic events. This isn't like that 2 week trip I made with my parents back in May '06 where we had almost every minute of the trip planned out. I will sometimes have a car available to use for short distance trips, but for something longer I'll probably take the train or maybe rent a car if necessary.

Me, Kiley and BaileyThe only bad part of all this is that I can't take my birds with me. I could take them, as far as my brother is concerned. He doesn't mind having them at the house with me. But how would I get them there? Has anyone ever heard of taking 2 little parakeets on a cross country plane ride? Right now, the plan is for my other brother and his family here in California to take care of them. My sister-in-law was rather excited with the idea - giving her kids a chance to see what it's like to take care of pets without a long term commitment. Good trial run for them. But I'm going to miss my birdie babies.
