Huge thanks and hugs to all who left me birthday wishes! If anyone posted in their own journal and I didn't comment on it, please tell me. I did read through my friends page on my b-day, but so so far from perfect and could have missed something. And I don't want to miss anything, 'cause I love you all. Special thanks to
aqualegia for the yummy virtual cocktail. :-D
To all of you, from me:

I bought The Sims 3: An Introduction at Target today. Only 99ยข and it comes with a $5 off coupon for Sims 3 for when it comes out - in less than a week! It came with a fun Ladytron poster which makes me laugh, because Ladytron will forever remind me of Justin going down on Brian in the Jeep while Brian smirks at the guy in the car next to them (QAF ep. 214). hehe I cannot wait for Sims 3. Are there Sims 3 communities on LJ yet? You guys probably know all about Sims 3 already, but I hadn't really been paying attention, other than knowing it was coming out soon.
I will be building houses like a crazy woman once I get it. You can do 360 degree rotation of furniture and objects!! And customize furniture, walls and floors *in* game. Expect me to semi-disappear from the web for a while while I learn all the ins and outs, though I will be online looking for cheat codes and stuff. Is there going to be a ModTheSims3 website, I wonder? I should check that out. I never bought any Sims 2 stuff after University - the first expansion pack for Sims 2 - so I've got a lot of catching up to do.
Fun tidbits I found out from the Introduction DVD:
In the medical career path, you start out as an organ donor. LOL
You can make your Sim a vegetarian.
You can buy a reward called a "steel bladder" that means your Sim never has to use the bathroom.
And loads more. Did I mention I CANNOT wait??
Non-Sims news:
I had *eight* (8) vials of blood drawn today for lab work for three of my doctors. I'd been putting it off. The phlebotomist did a really good job, but I still have a little hematoma where some of the blood spilled out of the vein under the skin (yeah, okay, it's just a little bruise... I *like* medspeak, okay?). No, I won't post a picture. Just keeping my fingers crossed for good lab results.
Also bought a bathing suit today, and it wasn't a horribly depressing painful experience. It's cute - chocolate brown with a little bit of gold trim. And I found the perfect beach towel to go with it - brown and white striped. And sandals too! Cute dark bronze ones. You'll just have to ignore my ugly (IMO) toes that I usually hide,
darksylvia. And I went a little crazy at the craft store buying beads and fun jewelry/crafty things. All in all, a good day. OH! And cinnamon crunch bagels from Panera! Yum.
Tomorrow, Mom has to have one of her teeth pulled. Apparently it's so bad even a root canal wouldn't help, so they're just pulling it. Considering the fact that she's 78 and still has all her own teeth, I guess this isn't too bad, but it's yet another reminder of hold old she's getting. Plus, she doesn't deal well with pain. I'll be playing nursemaid for a couple of days. Poor Mom. Or poor me. Or both.
Not related to anything else in this post, but Martin L. Gore has jumped to the top of the list of men who own me. He owns my soul. The new Depeche Mode album is so so so so good. I cannot stop listening to it. Corrupt is still my favorite. I don't know why. It just sucks me in. But pretty much all of the songs suck me in. In a good way. The Dave Gahan-written songs too, but Martin really fascinates me. I keep watching him in the videos that came along with the album on the iTunes Pass, and GUH. Yeah, I know he's not model-gorgeous, but he's so damn fascinating. He owns me. ::nod::
Not going to talk about how incredibly disappointed I am in California's Supreme Court. Just know that I am incredibly disappointed, but not really surprised.
That is all for now! Yay for real LJ entries, y/y?
