Well, actually the pics are here: http://pics.livejournal.com/jenepherre/gallery/00035eqz
It's late (or early, rather) and I'm tired from taking care of the two youngest nephews all day Thursday and Friday... not sure how I ended up getting stuck with that, except that they both seem to respond to me, which is good, I guess. I do adore them. Anyway, too tired to actually post the pics in my journal, so you'll have to go to the above link to see them.
There are also random and mostly blurry Zack and Shane pics here: http://pics.livejournal.com/jenepherre/gallery/0003ed3z
I did have fun Shane-spotting. And did talk to him again briefly. He's filming some stuff for Black Gold along with all the stuff he's doing for Panic. Also met Eric (again) and Than from Black Gold, and they're both incredibly awesome.
My sis-in-law arrived sometime during Phantom Planet's set, but I was out meeting Eric and Than along with the super cool
atorable. She and I met while waiting for the meet & greet and just happened to have seats almost right next to each other for the show. We went through the meet & greet together, squeed about the boys and hugs and talked about what pot flowers look like up close. It was THE BEST. ;-D
I have video clips too, but haven't figured out where to upload those yet, because they are glorious 640x480 and I don't want YouTube making them look crappy. Maybe I'll just upload to Sendspace? I don't know. Ideas are welcome.
On the downside - unrelated to the concert - I didn't go to NYC after all and didn't get to see Randypants in Antony & Cleopatra. Lois needed to stay home with her hubby after his surgery, and honestly - I was still recovering from the Panic concert anyway. Wren, my dear... I will have to find some other way to pay you back since I couldn't get you a Playbill. Sorry!
It's almost 5am here, and I should think about getting a little bit of sleep. More later, I'm sure. ::waves to

celiarosalind and

Also, I snatched one of your Shane-pics and I'm planning to make an icon of it, hope that's okay with you? Naturally I'll credit you for the picture :)

Date: Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 05:10 pm (UTC)So tell us more about the meet and greet - I read a couple accounts here and there on LJ and it sounds like some of the events are pretty awkward...I was considering just not going to mine. Was it worth it/fun/not totally embarrassing? Is it possible to just meet and then duck out before the pictures start?
It's great that you're having fun with your family visit. I am definitely going to try to go to A&K tonight with a couple friends so I'll let you know how it goes...it's too bad you couldn't make it up here but you get to spend more time with your new little relatives now!

Date: Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 12:41 am (UTC)How was Bamboozle? And how was A & K? I want to know!!
I'll try to write up a bit about the meet & greet and email it to you. You should definitely do it. It is sort of awkward, but still *so* worth it. And you should still get your pic taken with them. Zack takes it on *your* camera, so no one else ever has to see it if you don't want them to. Just do it! Don't miss out on the opportunity!
More later. I have a 5 year old who wants her auntie to tuck her in. :-)

Date: Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 02:51 am (UTC)I'll write more about Bamboozle in an email (you know how I can get verbose) but in summary the FBR-related groups I saw were Cobra, TAI, We The Kings, The Cab, Black Gold, Gym Class, and Panic (and I saw a bunch of non-FBR groups too). Both Cobra and TAI sounded better musically than I expected for some reason. I felt bad for Black Gold, they barely had 20 people standing up by their stage - they played in the big football practice bubble, so the acoustics were horrible, they got screechy feedback a couple times, and generally it all fell a little flat. :-( I'm not a huge fan of Gym Class Heroes but they put on a good show and did a nice cover of "When Doves Cry." Two girls standing next to me were like, "What is this song? It's not on their album...?" and I was like, "*facepalm*. The youth of today... Oh, I also did a stroll-by of the stage where Tyga was...I'm not impressed. Whatever. Anyway, my two big discoveries were We The Kings and The Cab, I had never really listened to them before and they were both great live. The Cab, what can I say? For real, they are cuter than a box full of kittens. They're like Panic 2.0, I guess, all really young and from Vegas. The crowd was just crazy for them and I can see why, they were great performers. The only bummer of the day was that I was very tired by the time Panic played, and really none of my video or audio came out well. I had both a (relatively) new camera and a (very) new phone, so now I've learned the hard way what settings to use. I will tell you about Panic separately but basically they did the same set (and the same banter) that they've been doing for HCT.
A&K was a disappointment, as I had suspected. It is fine to go to as a tourist but as a NYC bar it is nothing too special. It's also really a pain to get to using the subway (we had to take the L train, ugh), which is annoying to natives. We ended up going Saturday night, and I expected to maybe see some people from that day's Bamboozle there, but the moment we walked in, I could immediately identify the 3/4 of the crowd that were loitering around trying to celebrity-spot, and the 1/4 of the crowd who were from the neighborhood and annoyed at all the gawkers in their local hangout. It is very small inside and two areas were marked as "reserved," but there were just a couple drunk scene-looking girls hanging out, nothing to see there. There are actually two different height marker mugshot things on the walls, one next to the bathroom doors and one on the wall behind the bar - all the photos posted on the web are definitely from the one behind the bar. We were pretty disenchanted by the whole experience, so we just snapped a quick phone-camera photo of each of us by the height thingie near the bathrooms. There's not much space, so you can only get a headshot there, but we didn't think it was worth it to beg the bartender to let us behind the bar, particularly since the place was crowded with people who probably saw those photos of Panic and would want to do it too. So...yeah. It was fine but nothing special. :-(
I'll send you details after Boston...honestly I am still undecided about the M&G. Tell me how yours was, I think I need more convincing that it won't just stress me out. Being herded around in lines makes me crabby!
Sorry I missed you

Date: Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 12:36 am (UTC)You think I'm looking good? ::shakes head:: But I am looking happy, and that's a good thing. I'm having a great time out here with my bro and his family too.
::hugs back::
