DVD Ripping
Monday, March 8th, 2004 07:02 pmA number of people have asked me how to rip files from their dvds so they have video clips to use in music videos and whatnot.
I have tried and tried to write up some instructions, but I just can't. 'Cause I don't understand how it works myself. LOL I can tell you that the tutorial I started out with is here:

As it says on the above site, the software needed is SmartRipper, FlaskMPEG and the DivX codec to compress/format/whateverthehellitdoes. Links to where you can get those programs are included on the site.
Wish I could help more than that, but it was and is totally a trial and error thing for me. I can try and answer more specific questions if you get stuck somewhere along the line... but I just can't explain the damn process. LOL
