Still working on the site

What a mess. I think I had... 5 MySQL databases to move, which shouldn't be too big of a deal, but a couple of them wouldn't work once I imported them, so I had to figure out other ways to get the data in there. But it's coming along. Maybe later today. ::fingers crossed::

While I'm messing with all this stuff, I'm going to change the QAFScans installation a little, so that site will be down for a while too today. Hopefully not too long. ::fingers on other hand crossed... don't know how I'm still typing::

One of the reasons for the minor change on QAFScans is so that I can set up a place where I'll host people's event pictures - QAF related - for them. Like if you saw Randy in Equus and want to share some pictures you took, or met Peter after a showing of his movie, or whatever... I'll have a gallery where I can set up an account for you and you can upload your photos and share them with everyone. Not sure how many people will want to do that, but since I have the space and bandwidth, why not give people the option?

Anyway... back to work on the mess. Waiting for the nameservers to switch over. Again. ::sigh::

Something actually worked!!!

The change I wanted to make to QAFScans couldn't have been easier if I'd planned it. Yay!!! I still need to make an index page for http://www.qafscans.com/ but you can now find the actual scans site here:

The damned nameservers for Inxplicable.org haven't switched over yet though, so I can't do anything else with that for the moment. Ah well.

By the way, a whopping big FYI to anyone whose site still links to Pfyre's old QAF scans site, sometimes known as The Pfyre Place, your link is obsolete. My site is her old site. I will be forever grateful to her for letting me take over the site when she decided she didn't want to do it anymore. Think of all of the scans that she did that would have been lost to all of us? Anyway, if you have a link on your site to http://www.pfyre.co.uk/ you'll find she no longer has any QAF stuff there. I still see occasional posts on various yahoo groups wondering what happened to her site. Well, here it is:

The site is back up and running. I'm sure there'll still be some tweaking to do, but I ain't gonna think about that tonight. LOL Do let me know if you find a broken link or an image that isn't showing up.

What a relief to have that done!!

ETA: The entire database containing everyone's login information for my wallpaper gallery was lost - that was part of the reason I decided to change web hosts. Anyway, the wallpaper gallery currently does not require registration for any of the wallpapers/albums, but that may change in the future. So it's totally your choice if you want to create an account or click the link that says "continue to the gallery without logging in."
