If you play audio CDs in your computer's CD drive, you need to read this. And boycott Sony. And complain to Sony (sonymusiconline@sonymusic.com).

This isn't just about their CDs being copy-protected, making them difficult or impossible to rip to mp3 format and load onto your iPod. Just playing one of their CDs in your computer will - without your OK - install malicious files onto your system. Files that - if you try to remove them - can disable your CD drive. And all of this is apparently because Sony hates Apple. Fucking asshats.

ETA: Here's Sony's website specifically about their copy-protected CDs. Not sure if it'll do you any good, especially considering what the two articles above have to say. But there it is anyway.

Also, there is a list of CDs that include these malicious files here. Note that it's not an official list, just one compiled by some people concerned about the situation. There is no official list that's been made public.
