I am 10 weeks post op surgery for Endometrial Adenocarcinoma (uterine cancer). AND I have a pituitary adenoma that I get annual MRI's to monitor. My sister had what you had but they radiated her thyroid. She too takes synthroid, so I know a little of what you are feeling. I had a 90% sucesse rate too, but the big C always shakes your foundation.
