The Unseen and other stuff

I know everyone's been posting about Gale's (& Michelle's) movie, The Unseen, so... I guess I'm not very original. However, for those of you who are having a hard time viewing the .mov file, I converted it to a .wmv file. You can - at least for now - download it here (I recommend right-clicking and choosing "Save Target As..."):

Obviously you'll have to unzip it first, and then you can view it in Windows Media Player.

I'm not ripping any other songs from the DVD though, 'cause I want everyone to go out and buy the soundtrack when it comes out! :-) I just checked, and TLA Video has it available for preorder. It'll be released on Sept. 21st. Yay!! Read the notes about it though - some of the artists are different than in the movie... all of Julie's songs are done by someone other than Rebekah Jordan. Dammit. ::shrug:: I'm sure there were legal issues involved.

Anyway, I'm supposed to go to my sister's place tomorrow to babysit my adorable nephew Scotty, so there won't be any Latter Days icons or anything until Friday.

*Stares closely at screencaps* Dang, is that really Michelle Clunie? I never would've recognized her. I'll download the movie trailer later, right now I'm distracted by my "Latter Days" DVD. It FINALLY arrived today! So I'm off to rewatch for the 3rd time.

Oh, Gawd, I don't even want to. Speaking as a Southerner myself, I can imagine how bad it is. Note to Hollywood, not everyone in the South sounds like a cheesy rip-off of Scarlett O'Hara. And we also have air conditioning. We have for many decades. (Ever notice how every movie set in the South must have the mandatory "Sitting In Church Or In A Courtroom Sweating While Fanning With A Hand Held Paper Fan" scene?)

Now I really am going back to my DVD.

Thanks for that, JenR. I think a lot of us are coming to rely on you, when we can't see trailers, or movie clips, can't download songs. So a huge thanks for the other times you have come to our rescue in the past! LOL

So, the Unseen looks pretty heavy and emotional doesn't it. Sounds as though Gale might be on a little bit of familiar ground here. And I've come to the conclusion that Gale will go to any lengths to ensure that he's not just considered the "pretty face" in a movie! And I'm absolutely speechless about Michelle!

I'm in England though so I'll have to wait a very long time before I get to see it.

Thanks for this, Jen. I honestly didn't recognize Michele - it totally shocked me to see her name in the credits (I saw it off of someone else's link before I got to yours in my Flist). Wow. Is that really her? Weird.

I only have one southerner friend and she's in Texas and keeps insisting that they don't have the "typical" southern accent, so I don't know what a "real" southern accent is supposed to sound like (I guess *shrug*), so I suppose I'm not as sensitive to those things as I should be, but it sounded fine to me. Someone else mentioned this on your comments and I just thought I'd throw my two cents in.

I'm kind of scared to see this movie, to tell you the truth. I loved POT because I do like that character, but I'm nervous about this one that Gale's portraying. :( He just doesn't seem to be the kind I'd like. I don't think I'd like Wake for the same reason. :( :( :(

Oh well. And thanks for the tip re the soundtrack. Between this and Latter Days and whatever else is released in the interim, I think I have to make up a "What To Buy While I'm In The States" shopping list so I don't forget anything. With my memory, I will forget something. :P

Hey Jen, I just finished watching Latter Days and I'm still weeping!! I'm not a very pretty sight right now - red nose running and eyes puffy too. I'm glad you convinced me in getting it. I enjoyed it very very much!!!! Oh, the trials and triumphs in life!!! I don't have any new ideas for icons either. You are just that good. You captured everything beautiful, sexy, love, desire, need - kay, I'm shuttin up now. I love the kiss in the snow the best. YOU are loved!!

Gale always looks hot. LOL Michelle does look terrible, but I think it fits her character. Regardless, I think it looks like a very powerful movie. It's another indy film, of course - Gale is becoming the king of indy films - so it probably won't be a big box office hit, but I think it might do well on the film festival circuit.

Damn... I need to go make some Redneck!Gale icons now...

Hey - I didn't make the movie - I just rec'd it! LOL I've seen it a couple dozen times at least, and I still cry every time. I'm so glad you liked it too!!

I do have some more ideas for icons, so I'll still make one especially for you. Do you have a favorite between Aaron and Christian? Or maybe I should just do the kiss in the snow for you... whatcha think?

I think Wake might surprise you, actually. I loved it. His character in Wake is actually not what you might think.

And my personal opinion about The Unseen is that it's going to be a very powerful movie... probably hard for some people to watch, but one that really draws you in. I want to see it. But then I want to see anything Gale is in... LOL

I'm not sure the soundtrack to Latter Days will be widely available, to be honest. It wouldn't surprise me if you can only get it through TLA Video. But hey - if you need me to order it for you and ship it to you, let me know.

I watched again and yep you're right, I got all weepy again!! It's one of those flicks ya know that just gets ya at the heart!! I started out loving Christian's bod (well who the heck wouldn't???) but than after mormon hypocritical restriction was lifted off of Aaron and he got naked - well didn't he also have a bod LOL!!! I love them both and I'll love which ever icon you make for moi!!!! I want to talk much of this but I know some of our friends haven't seen it and I would certainly hate to ruin it for them!! OHHHH, all the lines you captured, I cracked up when I actually heard it and was doubly great cuz you had me be on the hear out and when I did - I got excited and giddy!!! Thanks again Love!!!
