I have much userinfoMagz pimpage to do. It's very important, so please pay attention. Thank you.

First, go to userinfomy actual LJ and see the resplendent layout and beauteous graphics she made for me!!! I envy her talent like Ennis misses Jack. Okay, maybe not quite that much, but a lot. And although none of this pimpage is required as part of the package, I'm doin' it anyway, so...

Magz does great layouts. Magz makes beautiful graphics. Magz is so good, she does not need to do it for free. But her rates are very reasonable and you should check out her site here for more info: n o w h e r e f a s t - buy custom lj layouts

My second pimpage is a combined userinfoMagz and userinfoMarishna pimpage. They have created KWAF, the first real comprehensive Queer as Folk screencap archive. Go to userinfoMagz's post here for more info. Yay!

Other possible attempts at interesting content from me later. Maybe.

It is, isn't it? I love it.

BTW, in regards to the screencap site - don't think this lets you off the hook as far as finishing your screencaps. Their gallery is non-character specific. Very helpful depending on what you're doing. But there are other times when I'd much rather use your B/J specific one. ;-)

I'd say thanks, but I can't really take credit for it! LOL Actually, I did make the background myself. :-) But [livejournal.com profile] quackaddict rocks. She did an awesome job.

very nice !! I totally appreciate what she did here for you and the time that is dedicated to get a result like this, and also the learning of the s2 coding. I've spent hours on my layouts. I've learned quite a bit of coding myself from the tutorials and Q&As at [livejournal.com profile] component_help. God, it took me over a year to get where I am now.

Yes, Magz makes gorgeous graphics. She certainly does :)

Enjoy your new layout :)

Thanks! I've looked at yours more than a few times too, actually. Love the pretty backgrounds. Do you make those yourself? And you obviously have learned a lot from component help and just from trial and error, I bet. I can do some of it, but for the life of me, I could not combine the squared components with the shrink and center thing. Don't know why. Finally just said screw it and got Magz to do it for me. LOL

HI how are you? feeling better, I hope. Jen, I have to tell you, that when I came to LJ in March of 2004(almost 2 years ago), I literally knew NOTHING about coding.. nothing at all, not even css, or how to code an entry. When I first started with component, I challenged myself, and at the time I was on a strange schedule and couldnt sleep at night and would apply the tutorials to the theme layer and try to get them to compile. over and over. I did start with the S&C and then after staring at the coding so much I began to see and understand that each one is a different "function code", and then kept trying to add each tutorial (function code) to get a different result. Sometimes I would get that error and it wouldn't compile for more than an hour. I really did teach myself. THIS AMAZES ME, you have no idea. I am still amazed. If there is something I wanted to know or if I had a question, I usually waited it out and would read the q&a's each day until my question was answered.

They can get very testy in that group, so I kept my distance most of the time as far as asking questions. I wasnt life and death to me to have them jump on me for asking a dumb question, so I would just wait and eventually someone would ask what I need to know. My backgrounds are from here and there, and then I'll play with the color of them in PS to get them to match what I need. The background I have now I on my Paul layout I really dont remember where it came from, but I do know that it was a brown color. so I played with it until I got it to be the burgundy color I wanted. By accident, it kind of matches the picture of Paul as a little boy in his backyard. the stripes match the curtains :). I'm a little burned out these days and haven't been obsessed lately, but STILL, I always learn something new from a question there or a new tutorial, and then I'll try an apply it, and I'm now on my way. The key is that every time a new {Function Code } is added, a } need to be put in between them. and a Function Code that is used to get a result, such as a search box, can only be used once. I know this all sounds complicated.. hahahahahah
I didn't intend to go on and on about it.. but I'm still amazed that I have come so far with what I have learned.

thanks for your compliment. I look at Magz layouts all the time and then I try to find out how she got her result, but I dont ask.. it surfaces eventually by someone's question. But her GRAPHICS.. whoa.. noway do I have that skill. I'm still a novice in PS. Still trying to teach myself and understand the layer pallette. hahahaha.. but her graphics are very very detailed and unusual. She is VERY GOOD. Now, me, LOL... If I have a nice picture of Paul M. or Gale and I'm able to add some text and make a border around it....., well,.. I'm happy :) LOL.

I have 3 favorite layouts that I alternate back and forth with. I made little buttons for them on the side bar. God, Listen to Me????? hahahaha. . I'm just proud of myself, that's all. and totally amazed at that, too.

I would never compete with Magz, but if you ever have a question, you can always ask me. I would love to ask her a few things, but I wouln't ever intrude on her or bother her. Sometimes she askes how to do something in CH, and then I learn something new from her question. She is in a league all her own. I admire her work.. it's fantastic. And she knows the strange S2 coding language much better than I do.

anyway.. this layout Rocks. the top graphic is exquisite. I notice you like green. :). And I always use purples and mauves and burgundy. I can't help it. LOL I wear these colors too.

I hope you are well and I wish you well also. I've had a bad case of the blues. It always hits me in January. January for some reason is like a very long Monday to me.. I even made an icon. oh, and thanks again for snoopy. I use it alot. Lately, I make a lot of "private" entries. Ive been doing that a lot lately.. venting and talking to myself. making notes to myself.. It really helps, I'm surprised. that way it really is like having a diary.

take care and be well ♥
