Another Update

So... I just had a particularly violent coughing spell and... I coughed up a little bit of blood. Never done that before. Freaked me out a little, as you might expect.
Not to worry, though. I called my doctor's exchange and the doc on call phoned me back almost immediately and asked me a bunch of questions (had I already done a course of antibiotics [yes], was I a smoker [no], etc.) and told me it was nothing to panic about. That I should go ahead and take my cough medicine and get lots of rest and drink lots of fluids, etc. but there was no need to be overly concerned.
Aside from that excitement, I did see my regular doc yesterday, and he gave me some more of the good cough medicine (Hycotuss, for those who might be curious) and gave me a Ventolin inhaler because my asthma is starting to act up a bit too. He said there's definitely a virus going around and the cough is lasting about SIX weeks for most people. Fuck. I have almost another month of coughing to look forward to? Ugh. The doc on call tonight said the same thing. Six weeks of coughing.
I've used the Ventolin inhaler before, but they've reformulated it so that it doesn't use chlorofl... that stuff that's supposed to damage the ozone layer. Anyway, the inhaler never really did much for me before, but now? Whoa! Not only does it help my breathing, it's like I got a shot of adrenaline. I'm just WIRED. The cough medicine partially counteracts that, but not completely. So I'm basically on uppers and downers at the same time. Wheeeeeeeeeee!
I've been able to get a little bit of sleep here and there, but still not enough. But I don't care as much as I did before. ::stoned grin::
I so adore you guys for your healing vibes and kind words and I hope you'll forgive me for not replying to each of you personally. I do a crappy job of keeping up on your lives, and yet you're continually there for me. I hope you all know how much that means to me. ::hugs::
In my one bit of good news,
darksylvia and I both managed to snag presale VIP tickets (which sold out in about 7 minutes) to the Panic at the Disco concert in San Francisco on April 10th. YAY!!!!!!! Not only do I get to see Panic perform, I also get to see Motion City Soundtrack and The Hush Sound (and another band I don't know) - both of whom I also love - who are opening for Panic. And just as important - I get to meet
darksylvia! I ♡ her so much - even though because she got me addicted to Panic - and now we get to squee about them together and in person!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Panic may have dropped the ! from their name, but there are still plenty of reasons to use it in relation to them. hehe) Thank the deity-of-your-choice that it's not until April. Plenty of time for me to get over this damned demon supercold.

Date: Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 04:46 pm (UTC)Funny you should mention Panic at the Disco. A friend wanted me to buy her a ticket as they went on sale in her area and she wouldn't have access to a computer. Apparently there are still VIP tickets in Denver...if only I was interested.

I DON'T KNOW WHETHER TO HOPE WE GET CHOSEN FOR A MEET AND GREET OR TO PRAY TO ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT WE DON'T. OMG. I MIGHT ACT LIKE A CRAZY FANGIRL IF I GET TO MEET THEM.
But regardless, the early entry is totally worth it. Phantom Planet is the first opening band. I've only heard one song, but it's pleasant.
OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE SO FUN.
