What would my f-list do?
So I'm driving to Vegas on the 11th and 12th of this month to see Panic (yes, again) play to their hometown crowd. Meeting
darksylvia there. YAY!!! Driving back on the 14th and 15th. Why 2 days each way, you ask? Because it's too far for me to drive by myself in 1 day. So, rather than stop at a motel - by myself - I'm driving to Orange County to stay with my aunt and uncle there. Which means... I'll be in the LA area the night that this happens. And I'll be back in the LA area - right by Anaheim, actually - the night this happens.
Can't get tickets for the MTV thing on the 11th - free tickets go fast and I wasn't fast enough. But I can easily still get a ticket for the Anaheim HCT show on the 14th. And then I'd be able to say I was at both the first and last shows of the tour. That'd make 4 shows on this tour for me. Crazy, right? But how can I be right there in Orange - right by Anaheim - the night of the show, and not be there? How? Could you stay away? I'll probably be really tired. It's taken me a couple of days to recover after each of the other concerts I've gone to this year. And I certainly won't get there early or anything. But a lot of the seating is reserved - not general admission - so I could have an assigned seat. And I'd be there in plenty of time to see Panic. And I can always take a taxi or something so I don't have to worry about parking.
What would you all do?
(You can choose more than one answer, btw.)

Next... I want to get a tattoo. Yes, really. I already have a pretty good idea of what I want it to look like - a line drawing of a bird with some flourish-y swirly leafy things around it. But I don't know where to put it. So... questions questions.
I've had some edema in my ankles and calves. It's a lot better right now, but it comes and goes. Does that kind of rule out this area for a tattoo?
What area is the least painful and what is the most painful?

Any other advice regarding tattoos? Please leave me a comment! Please?
Lastly, the drive between LA and Vegas. Panic did this in their "American Valley" short film (Part 1, Part 2). I was sort of thinking that I could be a total geek and try to stop a few of the places that they stopped, just for the hell of it. I'm driving that route anyway... might as well have fun with it, right? But alone? Eh. Is anyone else driving from LA to Vegas on the 12th (not the 13th - I'm going a day before the show)? Want to carpool or caravan?
Just as importantly, does anyone have any details about the places they stopped at? I'm assuming their first stop is Barstow. But looking at the map... Barstow is a lot bigger than last time I was there (::cough:: 15 years ago). So where in Barstow did they stop? The second place - with the trading post - says it's in Nipton. But that's off of I-15 by 12 miles or so. Worth it? Not really? I don't know.
Such a rough life, dealing with decisions like these. In other news, I just heard back from my doctor, and my tailbone is not fractured - so probably just bruised. And I don't have any torn cartilage or anything in either of my knees, but I do have some arthritis, especially in my left knee. I didn't know they could see arthritis on a x-ray. Hmm. Doc sent me for x-rays of the tailbone and both knees last Thursday. Anyway, there's nothing to be done for any of it, really. Big surprise.

Date: Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008 01:41 pm (UTC)I think the idea to make a Panic-themed vacation/road trip is so awesome! "Normal" people might disagree, but haters to the left! ;-) Life is too short to do anything other than as much of what makes you happy as possible. If you have the time and money, absolutely do it! Think of the photos/video you could take, it would all be pretty unique if you ask me.
As far as tattoos, the more time I spend around my rock star (hah!) music teachers the more I am thinking about one myself...I probably won't get one but I've been thinking about it. For some reason I really like the idea of Ryan's inner wrist tattoos. (I am not sure he'll love having those particular words when he's 50...but whatever.) If your design will be small (like less than an inch on each side?), placement on your inner wrist will still be somewhat discreet, and you could see it, as opposed to the other places where you wouldn't see it so much yourself. And on the plus side, your inner wrist probably won't ever change shape. On the minus side, it would probably be pretty painful!
