Thing is, I wasn't exactly trying to *hide* the scars. In case you hadn't guessed, they're cutting scars, from a couple of my worst depressive episodes. I was pretty sure I couldn't totally hide them, but I wanted to be less embarrassed about them somehow. Eeyore is my depression buddy - he reminds me I'm not the only one who deals with this awful disease - so it just made sense to me to put him there where those scars are. He does cover most of them, and is kind of looking at the one big one he couldn't cover, but mostly he's there to remind me I'm not alone.
That would make sense that a pattern or something busier would hide scars more effectively. Hadn't really thought about it. I'm just concerned (and only slightly so after talking to a couple of tat experts) that my Eeyore is going to look funny because it's not healing right or whatever. But my tat artist will touch it up for free, and everyone seems to think it'll still heal fine - I just need to give it time. So... cool.
What fandom are we talking about re: the aforementioned fanfic?

Date: Sunday, June 28th, 2009 07:13 pm (UTC)The fanfic is NCIS, Gibbs/DiNozzo. DiNozzo was the one with a nasty scar. What there is of the fic. is here - http://slashcity.org/hollyilex/unfiinished/ncis_notforget.html. At the end of the fic. are the notes I made/bits I downloaded when I researched tattoos.
