For those of you who read my depressing post of a couple of days ago, here's the latest... no LJ cut, 'cause it's short and sweet!
First - I definitely don't have Asperger's Syndrome or any other form of autism. My psychiatrist and I went through some of the criteria, and totally put my mind at ease. My nephew and possibly my brother do, though. But I know we'll all get through it.
Second - my appointment at the Social Security office regarding my disability claim? Heh! I had already been approved for disability and SSI - they just needed me to sign some paperwork and stuff! I'm going to have money and be able to pay my own bills and not totally mooch off my parents. You have no idea what a relief it is.
And it means I can get broadband!!! No more dial-up for me!!! That alone is enough to cheer me up. LOL
My sister is doing pretty well. The dog is doing okay - not great, but definitely not on her deathbed. And I'm feeling... hopeful. Still have tons and tons of graphics and webdesign jobs to do for friends, and I really need to get those organized and prioritized, but I think maybe I can actually do it.
It's not like getting disability is a cure for my depression or anything, but it does do 2 things for me - it makes me feel more validated that there is something wrong that's making it impossible for me to work right now, and it also gives me hope and reasons to get out of the house more often and hopefully start to do better in general. I'll always have the depression, and probably the anxiety, but maybe I can become a functioning member of society again. And I don't just mean internet society. ::grin::
Whew. Off to try and organize the To Do list... big huge hugs to all my wunnerful wunnerful friends. I wuv you all. Yeah, I'm getting goofy. Definitely time to sign off. LOL

Date: Thursday, September 25th, 2003 07:55 am (UTC)Five minutes after I emailed my Housing Consultant he was calling me apologizing. The inspection has been rescheduled for Friday afternoon.
I have my cable appointment scheduled; now I need to call and get my phone set up. I hate moving.

::big hugs back::
This is awesome!!
Date: Thursday, September 25th, 2003 06:10 am (UTC)*looks around and yawns*
*swishes tail in your face*
*gives kitty sniffs as kisses to your ear because that's about all the affection you're going to get out of a cat*
OK, all kidding aside, I think it's awesome that things are falling into place. It doesn't rain all the time, you know. Hey, see if there's a way you can get all that
$$ retro from when you were approved to when you actually signed the forms to get the money. That'd be good for ya!
