Quick Note...

since I know I owe several of you email. We got "The Call" from my brother-in-law late Tuesday night that my sis was in labor and they were headed to the hospital. Yay... excitement! Only... didn't happen. They sent her home a few hours later, but they were sure (the doctor and nurses, as well as my sis) that she'd have to come back later the same day and have the baby. So we got my mom all packed up and took her over to my sister's - about an hour away - so she can be there to stay with my 3 year old niece in case they have to leave in the middle of the night again. My sister isn't due for another week or so, but she's been 3cm dilated for over a week now.

So... holding pattern. Fun fun. They're sure she's gonna go into labor for real any minute now. Only "little brother" knows for sure, I guess. That's what my niece calls him. Although she also doesn't want him to come out, unless he's a kitten. ::snickering:: She's quite a character. I really don't know how she's going to handle not being an only child anymore.

So if you only hear from me sporadically for the next few days, you'll know why. If anyone needs me for something that can't wait, just put URGENT or something in the subject of your email and I'll make sure I look at it first. Heh. I'm probably seriously OVERestimating my importance in people's lives, but hey... let me have my fantasy. :-P

Made a few more Christmassy, non-fandom icons. Cause that's one of the few things I can do on my sister's cheapo graphics software. hehe

Your icon cracks me up. My radio show does a thing called Nucking Futz news. They were talking about people taking fruit cake on planes and having delays because the fruit cakes had to be xrayed due to their heavy density. One of the radio guys didn't understand taking fruit cake on the plane and the other just didn't understand fruit cake....lol

Yeah, I love that fruitcake thing. I've never liked fruitcake, unless I can talk my mom into making me a special loaf of it without nuts and without the candied fruit. In which case it's actually just a spice cake and not fruitcake at all. LOL

I haven't heard from Liz but since Peach got hers, she must have gotten hers also. I think my Firefly dvds are in the mailbox, I'm just too lazy to go check...

On a only sorta related note - there's a town where I grew up that has a huge billboard right at the city limits proudly proclaiming itself "FRUITCAKE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!" So now when you see a fruitcake, run over and check to see if it is from Claxton, Georgia.

Sorta explains alot about me, too, don't it????

My niece is obsessed with cats. Which is ironic since she has bad asthma and not have a real cat of her own anytime soon. Most of my family - including my sister - are allergic. I imagine Emma is too. But she has this whole little cat family of stuffed animals and so forth. And talks in meows all the time. Or sometimes it's something more like "quwow" - which I have no idea where she got. LOL So as far as "little brother" is concerned, she tries to avoid the subject altogether, but if asked she says it's a kitten. hehe

Still no news on the babe.

I think I might be coming down with something though. Not feeling well.
