Graphics Card Update

It's in. I'm out. Of my mind.

The actual hardware installation was a breeze, but fuck if I can understand the software and drivers and I'm not too happy with the image quality I'm getting. I'm usually good with technical stuff like this, but this thing is FUCKING DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!

Now, I know I can't use the TV-in feature yet, because I still need to get the right cables to connect my TV to the computer. It has a coaxial jack, and I hooked that up, but it doesn't work.

It doesn't help that opening up the computer stirs up all that dust and gets my allergies going either, I'm sure. So I'm sniffling and my eyes itch as I'm trying to figure out what the hell to try next. I mean, fuck... I couldn't even register the damn thing 'cause I forgot to write down some fucking product number that you can only get off the card itself. I got the serial number, but this is something different.

I'm probably just going to go to bed early and deal with it tomorrow. Maybe. Smallville starts in 40 minutes, and then there's Angel... but I bet I won't be able to stay awake that long. ::le sigh::

I'm sure I'll get it all worked out eventually, but so far I'm really unimpressed...

Did my 'no kitty' message not go over well? ::sigh:: We'll have to learn to deal with each other's mood swings if we're still getting married. But... do you have a cat? Cause I really honestly am severely allergic. Really bad. Eyes and throat swell up. Ick. We can still get cyber-married!!!

Well, I uninstalled all the software and drivers, as well as opening the damn thing up so I could get that part number off the card. Reinstalled all the stuff. It seems to be running better now. It certainly looks much better. Haven't tested the TV-in thing yet, but my super-cool Dad went out and bought me the cables for it last night!! I love my daddy.

Unfortunately we need technology so we can have pretty pictures of Gale, hon. Otherwise I might toss it all in the trash. LOL ::hugs back::

I'm guessing from your problems that you might have an ATI card installed? If you continue having problems with the TV in - try updating the drivers directly from the manufacturer's site. I had the same problem and had to update to the latest drivers to get it to work. I also had to back off to an earlier version of their software.

It may help...

Also, the install order of the driver/software can cause conflicts... re-install the driver after updating any software.

It's a pain.. but it may help
