So tired. As a few of you know, my sis-in-law and her kids are staying with us for a couple of weeks while my bro is back east doing some kind of training thing for work. Well, yesterday my sis-in-law and her youngest, my 5 mo. old nephew N., flew up to Utah to visit her sister for a few days - leaving Mom, Dad and myself with almost 3 yr. old niece S. and 4 1/2 yr. old nephew I. These kids are so adorable and so fun, but so very tiring. Not used to chasing young 'uns around all day and night.

Dad bought me a new car today. 2005 Corolla (used though - former Hertz rental). Silver gray. Just brought it home tonight, so I haven't driven it yet. But it looks great. I basically said "get whatever makes sense." Who am I to be picky if he's willing to buy it for me? Technically we'll be sharing the car eventually, but he's rather loathe to give up his battered old Tercel 4WD. Darn. hehe

My QAF set sale souvenir (that I won on eBay) finally arrived a couple days ago. Will post pics when I get a chance. It's hanging on the wall above my desk as I type this. :-D

I'm making plans to go to LA next weekend - now that I have a car again it's do-able. But today Mom lets it drop that she's planned for the entire family to get together on Sat. the 11th. Even though she knew that was the day I wanted to be in LA to meet up with drkcherry and meet Nick Lea. And I was planning to get together with joesther and her sis that weekend too. But... having all my nieces and nephews in the same place at the same time? PHOTO OP. And I'm the family photographer. Oh... and then there's the little fact that I adore all of them and would love to see them all playing together and spend time with them. So I'm torn. Sucks that Sat. the 11th really is the only day everyone can be here. ::sigh::

Oooh, talk about a rock and a hard spot. Well, if you can come down, it'd be great to see you and hang out, but if you can't, I totally understand and won't pressure. Family does come first, after all. :) I'll let you know my new cell number once I have it, so if you decide at the last minute, you can let me know.

Congrats on the new car! VERY cool of your dad - he's awesome. Give both your folks hugs from me, K? I can't wait to see them again.

Well, my friend drkcherry just informed me that Nick Lea canceled his appearance at the XF convention I was going to attend down there on Saturday... so I think that pretty much decides it for me. I really want to be here with all my kiddos. It's so much fun to see them play together... I wish I'd been that close to my cousins growing up.

Anyway... we'll catch up on everything else later, I guess. Hope you have a safe trip.

I'll miss you, but I totally understand. Family's more important, and after all, I'll be living right close(ish) to you come the fall, so... no worries. You enjoy those sweet little nieces and nephews of yours, take a ton of terrific photos (don't forget to share!), and we'll catch up when I get back.

Sorry your X-Files thing didn't work out, though. :( That's a bummer.
