Brian's black shirt from ep. 204 just sold for $1,375.00
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4720368891

(Just as a comparison, Michael's jacket just sold for $192.50. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4720381481 ::snerk:: Yeah, so I'm not a Michael fan - this is not news. I have nothing against people who like Michael - I just don't happen to be one of them.)

And the Rage comic #2 went for $531.76. Way over the $300 limit I was allowing myself. Damn.

To the person who bought the Rage comic - any chance you'll scan it so the rest of us can enjoy it too? Pretty please? [livejournal.com profile] madness2 and I will both make pretty wallpapers from it and credit you for the scans! I promise!!

I cannot believe how much this stuff is going for!

One of the little 'metal men' that was sitting in the loft that we really only saw once or twice (granted, one memorable time was the scene in 214 when Justin topped Brian) just sold for $710.00. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4720387301

I'm never going to get anything from the set sale. Anything worth having is way the fuck out of my price range. :-(

I hope those people really had that much disposable income, because I can't see a lot of that stuff holding their value.

In say, five years, they're going to try to sell this stuff to pay for a car repair or whatever, and be in for a rude awakening when nobody offers them anything near what they paid.

I can't see $1K+ for a shirt (that's been washed and doesn't even have his skin cells on it anymore!). You can buy a horse for that!

Exactly! Which just goes back to my earlier post where I was wondering Why the fuck didn't CowLip auction some of this stuff off for charity??? (Please excuse the bold and the swearing.)

I think the Rage comic might hold some value, but I don't think the clothing will. Especially since none of the clothing actually has certificates of authenticity. But... whatever. There will always be people out there willing to spend this kind of money on fan-related items. Which is why it bugs me so much that CowLip didn't think to do a charity auction. Or couldn't be bothered or whatever. Think of all the good this money could have done? ::shaking head::

I agree with you 100% about the charity thing...there are so many organizations who could really have benefitted, especially given the (oft-times) ridiculous prices these items are fetching.

But, given as to how CowLip/Showtime seem to just want to get the show over and done with, I'm not surprised that they didn't. Probably too much work.

I find it funny that certain items, which have duplicates or multiple copies, sell for so high a price. It's inevitable that the honestonline!guy will sell the other 3 metal men, other season passes, other copies of the posters, etc. Common sense is out the window. Nothing beats the iPod to me. Bwahahaha. Pay 1400+ and then 2 other copies sell for 400+ and 300+. *shakes head*

Good luck, Jen. It'll happen for you.

*nods* EVERYTHING is way the hell out of my price range, whether they're "worth having" or not. A book of Woody's matches starts at $15, fer chrissakes. Not that I particularly want a book of matches, I don't, but c'mon, FIFTEEN DOlLARS? Insane.

That's really sad considering I can just go downtown to the actual Woody's (I live in Toronto) and steal a pack of matches for free. *shakes head* And I saw people doing this with copies of Fab magazine too, a GLBT magazine we have here. There were a few issues that featured various QAF cast members and they were going on eBay for ridculous prices. This bothers me immensely considering Fab is a FREE MAGAZINE. Ugh. People are stupid. And insane, I agree.

Dear lord! I was browsing ebay last week *hoping* there would be something I could afford from the set sale, but it just depressed me so I stopped looking. I think it would have been cheaper to just fly to to Toronto and buy my damn self something than to purchase any of the things from Ebay! These people are nuts. Even if I had that kind of money, I don't think I could bring myself to pay some snickering person sitting in front of their computer, rubbing their sneaky little hands together, $1,375.00 for a black shirt. Sheesh.

I don't know who bought that copy, but I do know that qafbliss got one at the set sale. I'm not sure if it's a full issue or just a cover, though. You might want to ask her about it.
